Yesterday we had a koi tragedy (RIP little fishies)! The man we’ve relied on for the last 8 or so years to maintain out Koi pond has been slacking a lot more now that he has a more time-consuming but less labor intensive job delivering Amazon packages. When the system got too clogged with algae the aerator failed. It was partly our fault. We got too complacent because before this our man was reliable. We’ve lost all nine Koi. Mom is despondent and kiddo is confused.
We are all pretty depressed, but I’m trying not to let it get me down on release day! Knight is Free is live on KindleUnlimited!
After the frenchman lost his job times were very tough. Being able to check books out of the library was a godsend for me and kiddo, so I got a little teary when I saw The Roman’s Woman is on Hoopla. It’s also in a million other places. It will be followed by Trick’s Trap shortly and Peyton’s Price in a month or so…

So I think I’m going to be bad and write the Millionaire’s Mechanic (Rainer Torsten) before Burned Deep (Donovan Carter). I’m just feeling this story more and I have to keep the muse happy to make the words flow faster. I will try to write them at the same time, but I think MM will win cause I have things to say there, although I *must* finish To Hell and Back next because that’s a hard deadline with the ‘Zon.
Knight Takes Queen, R&R3 clocked in at 71K for the rough draft which I finished this Sunday. I will ignore it for the rest of the week before picking it back up. Factoring in my editor’s schedule I am guessing that’s going to be a May release now instead of October. Stay tuned—as soon as I get my act together I’m going to have Mercenary Audiobook review codes in my Street Team on Facebook.
One stolen moment can be the difference between victory and death. Anastatia Petrov has a mission. One final heist and she will be free of the monster that pulls her strings. All she has to do is steal a tiny device from a lair of cougar shifters. She has trained her entire life for this, so it should be easy. But when a cougar shifter meets a cat burglar, one stolen moment can be the difference between victory and death. Do you run back to the lion’s den and lose everything you fought for when the sexy man who caught you says you’re his mate, or do you believe in a man who brings fire from the shadows and light to the darkness? Their forbidden love may be a series of stolen moments, but it will take one last score to save the ones she loves.
I know authors sometimes like to talk about how much research they did for a certain scene, but there are a few I’ve written I could almost entirely off the top of my head you might be surprised about…Here’s a short list.
Elynn setting the laminar flow hood on fire in Making Her His, because yes…I’ve done this. More than once. One time I knocked it over and set the entire bench surface on fire.
The gene therapy explanation Jack gives Derrick in the upcoming Tooth and Nail. Most of that was memory. I only had to look up plasmid names.
The scene describing Gia’s home village and what food to mention cause that’s just stuff I wanted to eat at the time. Anytime Hispanic food is mentioned, it’s because I’m hungry and want my mom to make/buy that item.
When Logan explains epigenetics to the werewolves in Air. It’s by no means exhaustive, in fact it barely scratches the surface but I like to throw in biological details to all my books because that’s my background.
What a slime mold looks like in Fire. Really, anything fungal-related in my books. My PhD is in microbiology but my focus was on fungi and genome-level technology.
